Who we are
LaunchMotive LLC (an Ohio limited liability company) operates this website and the Startup Readiness Assessment referenced throughout it. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean LaunchMotive LLC. If you have any question about your information, contact us at hello@launchmotive.com.
What we collect
When you take the Startup Readiness Assessment: your first and last name, your email address, and your answers to the assessment questions. If you choose to, you can also share your current role and how long you’ve been building your business.
When you apply for a Fit Review: the information you enter on the application form — typically your current stage, what you’re trying to validate, what’s blocking you, and whether structured advisory work fits your budget right now — along with your contact details.
When you book or attend a call: if your application moves forward and you schedule a Fit Review, we collect your name, email, and scheduling details.
When you email us or opt in to our list: the contents of your message and your email address.
Automatically, as you use the site: standard usage information such as the pages you visit, the source that referred you (including campaign parameters in a link), your general device and browser type, and your Internet Protocol (IP) address. This is measured by Google Analytics, which sets first-party cookies on your browser to count visits and tell a returning visitor from a new one. We use it in aggregate to understand traffic and keep the site working. We don’t run session recording, heatmaps, or form-input capture, and it isn’t set up to follow you across other websites — see our Cookies Policy for the cookie names and how long they last.
We don’t ask for, and the site isn’t designed to collect, sensitive information such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, or health information.
The tools we use to run this (who processes your information)
We keep our stack deliberately simple, and we only work with established service providers who handle your information on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Zoho — hosts the website (Zoho Sites), stores our client records (Zoho Customer Relationship Management, “CRM”), runs our application and intake forms (Zoho Forms), sends our email (Zoho Campaigns), schedules calls (Zoho Bookings), and provides our internal reporting (Zoho Analytics).
- ScoreApp — powers the Startup Readiness Assessment: it collects your assessment answers and generates your results report.
- Google — measures website traffic (Google Analytics) and serves the fonts used on the site (Google Fonts). Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on your browser and retains event data for 14 months. Loading these fonts causes your browser to share your IP address with Google. Google Fonts itself doesn’t place cookies on our site.
These providers act as our service providers. They’re permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us — not for their own marketing.
How we use your information
- To generate and deliver your Startup Readiness Score report.
- To follow up if you start the assessment but don’t finish it (one reminder email, sent once).
- To send you a limited series of follow-up messages related to your assessment and your score. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message.
- To send occasional content and updates if you’ve opted in to our general mailing list — again, unsubscribe at any time.
- To route your information into our client records (Zoho CRM) if you apply for a Fit Review or become a client.
- To schedule, prepare for, and hold Fit Review calls and to deliver advisory engagements.
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To understand how the site is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations and to protect our rights and the security of the site.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your personal information. We don’t share it with third parties for their own marketing. We don’t engage in cross-context behavioral advertising or run advertising or tracking pixels on this site. We don’t use your information for anything beyond what’s described here.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet our legal obligations. If you take the assessment but never engage further, we keep your assessment record for 24 months of inactivity and then delete it, unless you’ve opted in to ongoing contact. Client records are kept for the life of the relationship and for the period our legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations require after it ends.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Access — ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix information that’s wrong or incomplete.
- Delete — ask us to delete information we hold about you.
- Port — ask for your information in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Object or restrict — ask us to stop or limit certain uses.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time.
- Unsubscribe — opt out of marketing email at any time using the link in any message.
To exercise any of these, email us at hello@launchmotive.com. We may need to verify your identity before we act. We’ll respond within the timeframe the law requires — and in any case without unnecessary delay.
If you’re in California
We don’t sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, “CCPA/CPRA”), and we haven’t done so in the past 12 months. In the last 12 months we’ve collected the categories described in “What we collect” above — identifiers (such as name, email, and IP address), internet or network activity (such as pages visited), and the commercial and professional information you provide in the assessment or application. You have the right to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, the right to opt out of sale or sharing (which we don’t do), and the right not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at hello@launchmotive.com.
If you’re in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area
Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, our legal bases for processing your information are: your consent (for opt-in marketing and any non-essential cookies); performance of a contract or steps you ask us to take before one (such as delivering the assessment you requested or running an engagement); and our legitimate interests in understanding how the site is used, following up on a tool you chose to use, and keeping our business and this site secure — balanced against your rights. In addition to the rights listed above, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, or with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Because we operate from the United States, your information is processed in the United States and may be processed in other locations where our providers operate; we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Children
This site and our services are intended for adults (18 and older) building businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, and work with providers who do the same, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to run the site and understand aggregate traffic. See our Cookies Policy for the detail and your choices.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
